The YMCA will break ground on a 30,000- to 45,000-square-foot facility at Camp Forbing Town Center, near the corner of Flournoy Lucas and Ellerbe roads in south Shreveport. The Y once owned about 50 acres of property at the site. Camp Forbing was home to the Y’s summer camp programs and a swimming pool, among other things.
In addition to watching over the pool, lifeguards are also responsible for communicating with members, enforcing YMCA rules and policies, and maintaining a clean and safe environment in the pool area.
